GET INVOLVED

Professional women from all walks of life have been joining and forming Zonta clubs all over the world since 1919. A member of Zonta is known as a “Zontian”. Some of the things Zonta of Jacksonville does is provide sponsorship to young women to study (TBD), members create care packs for women, mentoring young professionals, and providing assistance to local women’s charities. Zonta is unique in that it is the only service organization which focuses on the United Nation’s Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women Articles 1-16
Zonta International envisions a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential.
In such a world, women have access to all resources and are represented in decision making positions on an equal basis with men.
In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence.

Zonta International launched a global campaign titled “Zonta Says No,” designed to highlight the distressing statistics concerning violence against women, and to urge an end to this worldwide crime. In November 2013, Zonta clubs throughout the world marched, demonstrated, held meetings and seminars, distributed educational materials, and made presentations to public officials, advocating for support on strategies to reduce violence.
